FAQ’s

How long are sessions and can you tell me more about the structure related to treatment sessions?

Psychological therapy sessions are 50 minutes. However, sessions may be longer if agreed with your therapist. For example, EMDR sessions can be 90 minutes if agreed with your therapist.

Therapy is provided to you at a time and frequency that suits you and your schedule. You are free to withdraw from treatment at any time.

If you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the agreed amount.

If you do not commit to regular therapy, your chosen therapist may not be able to continue seeing you for treatment.

How long will treatment take?

It depends on the individual. Treatment can be short or long term.

Where do sessions take place?

Face-to-face sessions:

Individual Therapy Clinic has a permanent base at The Institute, Wood Road, Tettenhall Wood, Wolverhampton, WV6 8NF. The consulting rooms are confidential and discreet. There is disabled access.

For travel by car, there is a large free car park.

For travel by public transport, there is a bus stop outside of the building.

Online:

Online therapy has various benefits and is no longer considered inferior to face-to-face therapy. Therapy sessions are scheduled at a time to suit you and the practical details of this can be discussed by making contact with the Individual Therapy Clinic.

Is there a waiting room?

Yes. Although Individual Therapy Clinic wishes to be sensitive to family needs, we do not have the capacity to provide childcare. We do not allow children in sessions unless they are the client of the session. Children may not be left unattended in the waiting area.

Is my treatment confidential?

At Individual Therapy Clinic we offer the highest level of confidentiality. All communication and records related to your treatment will be treated as confidential and protected to the best of our legal ability. Under certain circumstances, your therapist may be required to share confidential information under ethical and legal guidelines.
